Our story

Trey Comeaux grew up in a very loving family. At a young age, he was known as ‘The Lil Pro’ in the sport of skateboarding. He was full of life. His smile and laugh were contagious, and he was an epic storyteller.

At 11 years-old, Trey was given a drug from an adult.

By the age of 15, the disease of addiction had taken over his life.

Through Trey’s journey in and out of rehabs, he was finally in full recovery at the age of 19. Trey had been clean for 15 months and was very excited to live a drug-free life. On November 23, 2020, Trey made a split-second decision to take one pill that ended his life. This one pill was pressed with fentanyl without his knowledge.

We did not want Trey’s life to be in vain, so Project Trey was established to honor his memory and his life that touched so many. Through education, outreach, and support, our goal is to prevent another family from facing similar tragedy.
